P&M Admin Dashboard
Designed an integrated workspace for admins, centralizing project oversight and stakeholder interaction for streamlined operations, and enhanced task management, driving business efficiency.
Mid 2020, we partnered with Pixel & Mortar — an AR-centric interior brand to create a series of management workspaces that enable their internal teams to work together seamlessly and deliver exceptional customer experience for their design e-commerce.
As the solo UX Designer for a enterprise-scale project, I played a key role in shaping the product direction, and working with the PM & engineering team to scope requirements, execute end-to-end flows, and secure leadership buy-in.

Background
Pixel & Mortar is a design e-commerce brand revolutionizing interior design by making it engaging, easy, and collaborative experience through the launch of P&M suite.
Problem space
The business sought a sophisticated approach to unify the business units in one space to enhance productivity and streamline processes.
Business goal
Enable P&M admins to efficiently manage & operate the business across designers, vendors, customers, while maintaining a holistic view of the business
Comprehensive, Unified Platform: Manages interior design projects from end to end with an admin-specific dashboard that enhances productivity for managing large records.
Streamlined Processes & Centralized Database: Simplifies project intake, designer assignment, vendor procurement, and client approvals with notifications and reminders, all stored in a single repository.
Real-time project tracking Intuitive dashboards and reports that provide real-time visibility into project status, milestones, and key metrics, enabling proactive risk management and course correction
Design & Iterations
High-level compilation of all the design exploration, decisions, and iterations we navigated in designing the experience.
To meet the unique needs of Pixel & Mortar's admins, we designed a robust workspace architecture that enables seamless operation across business units.
Module Navigation. I crafted the Module Navigation to enable admins to swiftly switch between Management (L1 navigation), Pages (L2 navigation), and their favorite frequently visited pages. Our goal was to create a distinct, efficient interface that also provides seamless access to other integrated applications for streamlined operations.
Header. I designed the Header to package essential management-specific tools, including search, chat, and notifications, ensuring streamlined access and enhanced functionality for current needs.
Page Container. In crafting the Page Container, we envisioned a versatile workspace tailored to meet the diverse needs of the business. Our aim was to create an active canvas supporting three primary page types:(P1) Dashboard,(P2) List, and (P3) Details.
Dashboard page to snippets all the vitals into single view providing a holistic overview of the process enabling quick operations.
Dashboard widget. We developed over 10 dashboard widgets across management workspace, tailored to diverse use cases and categorized into operational and analytical functions, enhancing both real-time operations and in-depth analysis
Catch up. To make the crucial tasks easily accessible and manageable at a glance. we designed catch up, offering a compact preview of the core job list, allowing users to triage high-priority tasks efficiently with the Quick View panel.
Bookmarks. Recognizing the challenges admins face with pagination and large volumes of records, I designed bookmarker that allows users to create tabs for their current work, enabling quick access and efficient multitasking.
List Page is the cornerstone of every management workflow, the aim was to consolidate large volumes of data into easily consumable flows.
Data records. To address the diverse needs of different personas, we developed 4 UI variants to condense the information . Our goal was to tailor essential information within a definitive hierarchy of user actions.

Retrospective
The Catalyst Project that Launched My Career
Embrace the ambiguity. When I joined XR Labs, Pixel & Mortar had just signed a partnership with us for a three-year initiative. My manager, Anushree, entrusted me with this project, giving me the opportunity to oversee all stages from design to implementation.
My biggest learning from collaborating on this management workspace project was recognizing the fine line between simplifying complex processes and undermining them. In a multifaceted business environment, our focus was on making workflows easy to comprehend.
Growth. Given sole responsibility for research, experimentation, and design, I embraced the challenge. From managing stakeholders and synthesizing research to presenting to leadership and receiving peer feedback, this project was pivotal in my growth as a designer. Its success helped me build trust within the team, leading to my transition to the Enterprise XR vertical to spearhead new initiatives.
